Margarita usually paints trivets but has done a few pictures like this one and has done murals that go directly on stucco. The enclosed village tile painting is ideal to hang outdoors or indoors. Professionally framed, it's ready to hang.
The process starts by choosing perfect virgin ceramic tiles and individually cleaning them with a wet cloth. Once dryed, three different coats of cloud white (solution to help color be bright, not dull) are applied, waiting in between each coat to dry. On a piece of paper, Margarita draws the village and divide the picture in six different squares each representing one of the tiles. Then, she starts drawing the picture on the tiles, guiding herself by the six different squares traced on the paper. She then starts applying the color and bringing the picture to life. To create strong vibrant colors, three and four different coats of ceramic painting are applied, waiting for each coat to dry. There is a need to wait for the coats to dry as bubbles can form if you don't. Once the painting is done, it is fired in a quiln. The beauty of ceramic tile painting is the suprising end result once the tile comes out of the quiln; an artist can only guesstimate the final color of the painting by the amount of coats given. There are also several "mixed" colors that the artist hope it delivers what was seeked. We, at Adoros, hope you find this one of a kind tile picture, a treasure to keep or to give. Painting is on tile. White wash redish frame color. Size: 19.5" x 13.5" framed. There are six 6"x6" tiles, two accross by three down. Grout is applied in between the tiles for a finish look. Weight: 7 lbs. Professionally framed.
